First fundraiser at an Osoyoos Coyotes Hockey Game

First Official Fundraiser

Hosting a Guess the number contest at the Osoyoos Coyotes game

The first fundraiser I hosted as a British Columbia Ambassador candidate was put together in just several hours. I went from thinking up the idea to making all the posters & creating the game to making the phone calls and then actually going to the event! So I'm really pleased to say that for an last minute fundraiser It was really well received.

I spent last night making hand made posters to put up. I made set themed posters (myself/about the BC Ambassador Program/the contest/ways people can support me) and although I didn't have room for all of the posters  I did showcase the 3 most important ones!

I basically created the posters using green/gold/white construction paper in theme of Saint Patrick's day and I made sure to create interesting and pretty patterns using Green glitter glue to give each poster an extra boost of something special. I also made a Shamrock from a pipe cleaner.

My game idea was a simple guess the number concept with a Saint Patrick's Day theme. I thought of creating gold coloured paper rings (like a paper chain) and putting them into a clear Jar and offering a prize of Gold coins for the person who was the closest to and or correct guesser!!

I approached the Osoyoos Coyotes who originally had offered to be one of my sponsors however I was secured a full sponsor ship from Sunshine Valley Family chiropractic. Instead the Osoyoos Coyotes [Wikipedia page]said that I could set up a table promotion at any game. Luckily they were having a home game yesterday on Saint Patrick's Day!

So I sat at the Main table for most of the game and spent an enjoyable evening getting to know two of the Osoyoos Coyotes [Facebook] Volunteers both of whom were named Linda! Since I was there at the table they got me to continually draw Program numbers for the various Program Prizes. It was a very different experience watching from Ice level & it was a vastly different Hockey watching experience for me! Here is picture of me making a Program draw as well as a photo of me with the two Lindas, myself and the Osoyoos Coyotoes mascot - Yotie.

I was also happy interact with people and had an over all very successful fundraiser considering it was a last minute thing. Unfortunately the Osoyoos Coyotes did not have the same kind of success. Sadly they lost the game to the Kamloops Storm 2-1 and thus were eliminated from the KIJHL Playoffs. However I have to commend how hard the team has worked during the Play-offs and have to say that as a fan I am extremely proud of the team & their successes of the 2014/2015 season. I was truly honored to be able to attend the final home game of the year as a British Columbia Ambassador candidate!
