Osoyoos Museum Society - Spring Open House

Osoyoos Museum Society ~ Spring Open House
Saturday March 28th
A few weeks ago just shortly after Viveka and  I became official British Columbia Ambassador Candidates we were asked by the Osoyoos Museum Society to help out at their Spring Open house between Noon and 4 p.m. Viveka and I were both able to attend. Which made this our first official community event together!

In agreeing to Volunteer at this event I truthfully had no clue what we would actually be doing. I was pleasantly surprised when Viveka and I were told we were going to be the first and last  faces that people would see. Thus we spent the
afternoon as Official Door greeters! Our job was to welcome people
as they came into the event which we typically said "Welcome to the Museum."
Today's your lucky day as admission is free and there's delicious food to be eaten!"
However our main job was to hand out to hand out little Post cards to everyone as they left.

Featured on these postcards is the building that  Osoyoos & District Museums and Archives and the Osoyoos Museum Society purchased.  After they rallied support of the residents of Osoyoos and Area "A" Regional voting district of the Okangan-Similkameen during a Referendum held in June of 2011. Featured on the back of postcard is information such as how the museum will be gaining lease of the new building in 2016 with hopes of being fully moved to the new location by 2017.

Opening Remarks and speeches started Promptly at 1 p.m. Viveka went off to listen to the speeches, say a few remarks herself and help with the serving of the cake.
I remained at the Front entrance where I continued
to greet people & hand out a few post cards to the people who had to leave early.
There were actually quite a few events happening that day!

I had a really enjoyable afternoon with Viveka and it was probably the first time we've really "hung out" together and gotten to know one another. During our time hanging out at the front doors which included chasing after brochures that were blown off the racks by the wind, we discussed many different topics of conversation.  We both discovered that we like traveling and want to do more of it in particular Europe and we also learned that we both LOVE museums. Through out the afternoon we talked about the upcoming British Columbia Ambassador Program and talked about how we felt about our current Journey as British Columbia Ambassador Program Candidates.

Through out the afternoon we also met, mingled with and spoke to a a large number of people as the event was a smashing success with over 100 visitors attending the Spring Open House! We spoke to familiar faces and met lots of new ones. It was a truly enjoyable afternoon! I was thoroughly impressed at how there was never a totally quiet lull in people but  It seemed to me that we had a steady number of people visiting the museum throughout the afternoon. Around 3:30 we were told that we could leave if we wanted.

Before we left we got a picture with Dr Martha Collins   is not only my sponsor - Sunshine Valley Family Chiropractic  but is also family Chiropractor to both Viveka and I.  In fact it was Dr. Martha who invited us to the event as an acting member of The Osoyoos Museum Society!

Here is Viveka & I posing by the Future Museum Home Fund Goal outlines

After that Viveka and I were officially done our Volunteer duties and decided to use some of our time to explore the museum!

Funny story - it took Viveka and I both ages to clue into the fact that this was a poem! Good times.

Thank you to the Osoyoos Museum Society for inviting Viveka and I to volunteer at the Spring Open House. We had a marvelous time and it was so great to see the town so very warmly accept & support the Museum by attending the Open House! I guess it's really true what they say that no matter where you go in Osoyoos or who you meet  you're always bound to find Canada's Warmest Welcome!

Lastly here is the Youtube video that Viveka and
I made during our time at the Osoyoos Museum Society Open House!

Makeup look for Osoyoos Museum Open House

My Museum Makeup Look

On Saturday March 28th I attended the Osoyoos Museum Society Spring Open House as a British Columbia Ambassador Candidate. Here are the products I used to achieve this look!

Pre-Makeup

FACE

For the base of my Face I used my handy dandy Jane Iredale Starter Kit in Porcelain (Most Similar Product)

For blush I used My beloved Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in Peach (amazon) similar products Maybelline Offer are dream bouncy blush in Peach Satin or FACE STUDIO MASTER GLAZE™ IN JUST-PINCHED PINK

Eyes

For my eyes  I started out with combing my eye lashes out with an old Mascara Wands

First I used the wand on the Left to brush out my Lashes pre-mascara - Rimmel London LASH ACCELERATOR ENDLESS Mascara buy it here
Secondly after I applied Mascara I brushed my lashes out with the wand on the right - Rimmell London ScandalEyes Show Off Mascara  - Buy here

The Mascara I used on my eye lashes was Clinique High Impact Mascara in Black

To apply my Eye Shadow I used my Joe Fresh Brand Eye Shadow Brushes

For my eye Shadow I choose my favourite Jane Iredale PurePressed Eye Shadow in
Triple Brown Sugar

As you can see it's a really nice trio with Golden tones and Brownie (is that a word?) coloured Purples and Dark Purple. It is perfect for a Smokey day look or used with other products to make a Smoking Hot Smokey Eye for Night time Glam!

 Lips

To start I used a Jane Iredale Lip Plumper which is actually double sided and also has a Brown Sugar Exfoliator. As you can see the color is fairly similar to my Lip Plumper Sample in LA from my Starter Kit!

I really love Jane Iredale because they are very good about listing the Ingredients in their products. I really feel like there are a lot less chemicals in this Lip Plumper than some of the other ones I have tried. Mostly because the Stinging or tingling sensation doesn't last for as long as some of the other products I have tried!

Next as a sort of Lip Liner I used my Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in Heftiest Hibiscus 04
I really love the Chubby Sticks because they feel soft and silky like a fancy lip balm. I also like them because unlike a normal Lip Liner the color doesn't last as long. I am not so skilled with applying lip liner so a Nice gentle and soft color for the afternoon was perfect - especially if I made a mistake it doesn't last forever!

For my Main lipstick I choose my L'oreal Paris Colour Riche® Lipcolour in Classic Wine 752

For my Lip gloss I choose my  Rimmel London Stay Glossy 3D in Popcorn for 2 - 113 (Buy Here)
I really like this lip gloss because it's sparkly and fairly sheer in color so it's pretty versatile. The thing I like about Stay Glossy 3D Lipgloss is the fact that it isn't all that sticky or tacky.
For touch ups I brought along my Stay Glossy 3D lip gloss

And for a touch up color I actually brought my Chubby Stick Baby Tint Lip Colour Balm in Flowering Freesia 04
I took this one along because it's such a light colour that I could confidently apply it like a lip balm and not need a mirror for precise application.
