Final Farmers Market Fundraiser

Early on August 8th I got up at 7 a.m to attend my final Farmers Market as a Vendor hosting a table selling Home Made Sunscreen & Lip Balm as a Fundraiser for the British Columbia Ambassador Program!Lucky for me my new labels & Business cards arrived in time for me to use at my final farmers market.
This was to be my first Saturday morning market and I was pretty nervous for this one, not fully knowing what to expect for crowds. Lucky for me I was able to set up in the shade as I didn't have a stand to protect me from the sun.

I just want to say thank you to everyone who came out to see me during any of the farmers markets   I attended & to everyone who supported my candidacy in some way!

I would like to graciously thank everyone who has supported me during the Farmers Market. Over all I was able to raise over $1,000 for the British Columbia Ambassador Program. Which wouldn't have been possible without my participation in the Farmers Markets.

Artisan Market at Osoyoos Art Gallery

On Saturday August 1st I stopped by the Artisan Market
Through out May & August the current Show at the Osoyoos Art Gallery is called Artisan Market and features an eclectic mix of Art from local artists. This is a first time Art Display for the Osoyoos Art Gallery and the collection includes Pottery, paintings, photographs, glass, jewelry, and fabric art all created by talented local artists. Please go and check out this fabulous display of talent within the community of Osoyoos and support this show. I hope that this is the first of many successful summer seasons for the Artisan Market. I thoroughly enjoyed my brief tour of the collection and intend to return to the Art Gallery once more before my candidacy ends to enjoy the art!

Art in the Garden 2015

On Sunday July 26th I attended the 5th annual Art in the Garden
PictureOn July 25th and July 26th Osoyoos, Cawston and Keremeos hosted the 5th annual Art in the Garden event.

Between the three communities there were 18 Artists showcasing their creations at 4 different locations that hosted the various Art in the Garden Events.

I personally went to the studio of Katie Foster  which was the 3rd tour stop for the 2015 Art in the Garden.

Over all the purpose behind the Art in the Garden
is to spend an afternoon exploring the stunning scenery of the Okanagan - Similkameen area whilst enjoying an Art based Tour traveling from Keremeos to Osoyoos. versa.

If you wanted to start your Art in the Garden tour from Keremeos you would first visit  Bonny Roberts Fine Art Studio. Well traveling west towards Osoyoos  as you traverse the Okanagan landscape be sure to stop by Cawston and visit The Forbidden Fruit Winery which is the second tour stop.

After you enter Osoyoos head South towards the Border to stop by at Katie Foster's Ceramic studio which is stop number 3. Before traveling east through the town of Osoyoos towards Anarchist mountain where you would conclude your Art in the Garden tour by visiting East Bench studio as hosted by Sharon Leonard

At each location you would get a unique stamp in your Art in the Garden tour passport and if you managed to visit all 4 locations during the weekend events, you could use your passport as an entry into a Draw for a basket full of Fine Wine and Art.

No matter where you visit there is an eclectic mix of Art including mediums such as Acrylic paintings, Water colors, Oils, Photography, Pottery, Jewelry and ceramic art. Each location also served as a chance to spotlight local Wines as different wineries were hosting tastings to go along with your art viewing pleasure.

During my afternoon I enjoyed gorgeous views of Osoyoos Lake as I walked around and looked at Paintings, ceramic Pottery and Jewelry in the garden & studio of Katie Foster. I also spent some time talking to some of the artists and event bought 3 Postcards replicating the intricate paintings done by Jane Scheffler showcasing some stunning Osoyoos landscapes.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first time attending the annual Art in the Garden event and only wish I had more time to visit the other Art in the Garden Locations.
I want to commend the group who have spent 5 years organizing the Art in the Garden and congratulate everyone who took part. From the Artists showcasing your art, those promoting wine, or anyone who helped ensure the success of the event Garden! The hard work is appreciated, admired and respected.

I have to say that the South Okanagan is full of such phenomenally talented people and we are immensely lucky to have opportunities to appreciate the Fine Arts. I thoroughly enjoy all things associated with Fine arts whether it's watching people singing, dancing, or acting, to listening to bands or orchestra's as well as visiting local Art Galleries and attending Art focused events.
