Mary Kay Makeover

On April 21st I attended a Mary Kay Makeover Party hosted by friend Shanowa & her Mary Kay Consultant Angela. Feel free to check out Angela's Mary Kay website by clicking here
During our party we had a full facial which included products in the Time Wise Miracle Set
The ladies and I were also treated to a Satin Lips Set  which included a Balm & mask. We used the TimeWise 3 in 1 Cleanser followed by the TimeWise Age Fighting MoisturizerTimeWise Age-Fighting Moisturizer with SPF 30 and this product in particular was my favorite from the evening.
We Also used products like TimeWise Day/Night Solution Set as well as the TimeWise Microdermabrasion set followed by the TimeWise Firming Eye Cream. We also did a mini hand treatment which included products from Fragrance-Free Satin Hands Pampering Set. After our skin was smooth and soft as can be we got into the fun portion of the evening which was Makeup application! I learned so many quick tips and tricks that I will be using during the British Columbia Ambassador pageant in August!

At the start of the evening we were given little Gift bags which included a face cloth, makeup applicators, some candy, a sample eye liner and a sample of the infamous Mary Kay Satin Hands
For our makeovers we created a Basic Glowy Goddess themed look which was the ultimate go to look and perfect for both night & Day as it could easily be built on to be customized for whatever look you were going for. For the foundation application we were each given a Mary Kay Mineral Foundation Brush to use and taught how to properly use our brushes.
For my foundation we used Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation in Ivory 1

Next we used Mary Kay Cream Blush in Sheer Bliss which again was another product I really loved because of it's versatility. It could be used for a subtle look or built upon and create a more dramatic look!

For our Eyes we used Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara in Black and two shades of the Mary Kay Cream Eye Color collection. We used Beach Blonde for our base shade and Iced Cocoa for our statement color. Follow this we opened up our mini Single use our Mary May Eye Liner samples in Black.
Lastly everyone got to choose a shade of Mary Kay Nourishine Plus Lip Gloss and I choose Pink Luster.
I also have to mention that this eye makeup photo was from several hours later so it truly didn't smudge that much and combined with the finishing spray my makeup pretty much stayed on point!
For our final step everyone was sprayed with Mary Kay Finishing Spray by Skindinävia which was a product that I ended up purchasing!
Clearly I am really messy with makeup when you look at my Mirror shots from Before and After but over all I was super happy with how my Makeup turned out and how lovely my skin soft. Later in the week I ended up meeting with Angela and decided to become a Mary Kay consultant because you have to pay for that pageant Life somehow! So I'm really happy to see where that takes me and at the end of the day I'm just really happy that I can now purchase my makeup staples that I will need for August at a slightly cheaper cost!!! Anyway like I said I was super happy with how it all looked and had so much fun at the Makeup party. I certainly learned so much that will probably help me out quite a bit in August at the pageant.

Wander Home & Cafe Clothing

Wander Home & Cafe Osoyoos

Clothing Provided to me for the Fashion Show

I was extremely lucky to be wearing Clothing provided by the Wander Home & Cafe Osoyoos in the Step into Spring - Soroptimist Spring Fashion Show on April 18th. I was really excited to be wearing clothing from Wander because they have such an eclectic assortment of clothing, accessories and jewelry.  I went in early on Morning and picked several outfits but pretty much fell in love with the first two I tried one.

One was a gorgeous white dress with a red flower pattern. It was a strapless style but with an elastic band fit and tie in the back which gave it a more fitted look & helped to make you feel secure. I also liked it because it was a sturdier fabric and not overly flimsy so it would be perfect for those slightly breezy Summer days. This first dress was priced at $45.00 but I really feel like it would be worth it to pay that much because it was such a decent quality dress. Plus it was so versatile and could be worn up or dressed down to be worn in a more casual setting.

I wish I could better describe the materials but basically this is an attempt to show you the texture of my First Summery style outfit that I wore. To pair the white dress we choose a thin coral sweater. For accessories we choose Pink hues along with Rose Quartz and to top it all off we decided on a Pink Asian inspired parasol/Umbrella. I will now post photos of my outfit and the individual pieces.

The hand painted Coral/Pink coloured Umbrella with Yellow flowers and white tassels

The pink layered woven cord type necklace with Silver Beading detail.

The beaded Rose Quartz Flower bracelet. What was really neat about this piece is that the metal is fully pliable and thus adjustable. Which also makes this bracelet versatile because you could hypothetically mold it to fit your wrist or even form it to fit your fore arm if not your upper arm for an arm cuff look. This bracelet is such a gorgeous statement piece! I really did love it.

I really loved both of my Rings which kept in theme with shades of Pink. I wore a Hot pink leather rose Ring that had a fully adjustable metal band. I also wore a really intricate Pink beaded ring that had a band made of the same material as the black swirl. I believe that this ring looks like a Butter fly. I think the thing that is so great about this ring is the fact that it looks so different if you wear it with the black swirl facing down or up. It truly changes the aesthetic of the ring depending on how you choose to wear it.

For my second outfit it was more of BIG and BOLD theme with the entire look from head to toe being one Giant Statement.

It was a Bright yellow think fluorescent or Highlighter Yellow dress that included a black and red pattern and had a racer back style with thick straps in the front. It had a bit of a fitted top with a bit of a drop waist bottom and it also included pockets. The pictures I have included show how different the colour of the dress appears in different light settings. The bright pictures were taken in natural light and the lighter shades of Yellow were the dress in an indoor lighting. I actually really fell in love with this dress. This dress cost $40 and I fell in love with it so much that I actually bought it.

To pair with the dress we continued with a BIG and BOLD theme and choose bright jewelry that were red and black but also included Long Peacock feather earrings - because why not. To add one last big bold thing we paired it with a Red zebra stripe and black Zebra Striped purse.

The Necklace I wore was a fitted multi layer red, black and gold beaded choker. To me it reminded me a bit of something Cleopatra might have worn. Although it was super fitted it wasn't at all uncomfortable to wear!

For bracelets we continued with a Red, Black and Yellow theme. We choose a multi layered black beaded cuff and 2 woven red & 1 red and gold woven bracelets that were actually pretty cool. They were fully pliable and could bent in any shape. Which means they are super versatile even more so that the Rose Quartz bracelet from the first outfit. Plus the giant black end beads really went well with the black beaded bracelet.

As I mentioned I got to wear these really gorgeous Peacock feather earrings. They actually really blended into my hair really well so in stead of an earring from some angles it looked as if they were woven right into my Hair!

Lastly as I said I modeled a giant Red and black Zebra Stripe bag for my last Big and Bold accessory with this outfit.

I would like to again say a HUGE thank you to Wander Home & Cafe in Osoyoos for allowing me to wear such beautiful clothes and accessories in the fashion show. I truly loved being able to represent your brand and rock your clothes as a Model in the Step into Spring - Soroptimist Spring Fashion Show!
