Mary Kay Makeover

On April 21st I attended a Mary Kay Makeover Party hosted by friend Shanowa & her Mary Kay Consultant Angela. Feel free to check out Angela's Mary Kay website by clicking here
During our party we had a full facial which included products in the Time Wise Miracle Set
The ladies and I were also treated to a Satin Lips Set  which included a Balm & mask. We used the TimeWise 3 in 1 Cleanser followed by the TimeWise Age Fighting MoisturizerTimeWise Age-Fighting Moisturizer with SPF 30 and this product in particular was my favorite from the evening.
We Also used products like TimeWise Day/Night Solution Set as well as the TimeWise Microdermabrasion set followed by the TimeWise Firming Eye Cream. We also did a mini hand treatment which included products from Fragrance-Free Satin Hands Pampering Set. After our skin was smooth and soft as can be we got into the fun portion of the evening which was Makeup application! I learned so many quick tips and tricks that I will be using during the British Columbia Ambassador pageant in August!

At the start of the evening we were given little Gift bags which included a face cloth, makeup applicators, some candy, a sample eye liner and a sample of the infamous Mary Kay Satin Hands
For our makeovers we created a Basic Glowy Goddess themed look which was the ultimate go to look and perfect for both night & Day as it could easily be built on to be customized for whatever look you were going for. For the foundation application we were each given a Mary Kay Mineral Foundation Brush to use and taught how to properly use our brushes.
For my foundation we used Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation in Ivory 1

Next we used Mary Kay Cream Blush in Sheer Bliss which again was another product I really loved because of it's versatility. It could be used for a subtle look or built upon and create a more dramatic look!

For our Eyes we used Mary Kay Lash Love Mascara in Black and two shades of the Mary Kay Cream Eye Color collection. We used Beach Blonde for our base shade and Iced Cocoa for our statement color. Follow this we opened up our mini Single use our Mary May Eye Liner samples in Black.
Lastly everyone got to choose a shade of Mary Kay Nourishine Plus Lip Gloss and I choose Pink Luster.
I also have to mention that this eye makeup photo was from several hours later so it truly didn't smudge that much and combined with the finishing spray my makeup pretty much stayed on point!
For our final step everyone was sprayed with Mary Kay Finishing Spray by Skindinävia which was a product that I ended up purchasing!
Clearly I am really messy with makeup when you look at my Mirror shots from Before and After but over all I was super happy with how my Makeup turned out and how lovely my skin soft. Later in the week I ended up meeting with Angela and decided to become a Mary Kay consultant because you have to pay for that pageant Life somehow! So I'm really happy to see where that takes me and at the end of the day I'm just really happy that I can now purchase my makeup staples that I will need for August at a slightly cheaper cost!!! Anyway like I said I was super happy with how it all looked and had so much fun at the Makeup party. I certainly learned so much that will probably help me out quite a bit in August at the pageant.

Step into Spring Fashion Show makeup & look for the day

Makeup for the Step into Spring - Soroptimist Spring Fashion Show

Hosted by Soroptimist International of Osoyoos

So as a British Columbia Ambassador Candidate (Follow me on Facebook) I was invited by the Soroptimist International of Osoyoos to take part in their Spring Fashion show. I would be wearing clothing from the local Wander Home & Cafe Osoyoos I however never was given a brief for how to do my Hair & Makeup. So I basically did some really Basic Prep at home (Foundation/cover-up/mascara/Lip Plumper/Lip Liner) and did more of the intricate detailing type Makeup like Eye Shadow, Blush and lipstick once I arrived at the event. Both of my outfits were pretty much polar opposites and nothing a like. So that of course didn't help me much in way of figuring out the best make up. So I actually decided to keep it rather simply, casual, sort of business sophisticated so that it would compliment each outfit & be agreeable to the crowd which was made up mostly of Middle Aged women!

Pre Makeup Prep

Since I was going to be walking to the event and I knew it was going to be a very sunny day I actually went back to preferred Clinique Double combo of Even Better Skin tone correcting Moisturizer with SPF 20 and paired it with my favorite Moisture Surge

As part of my prep I did a quick manicure using this OPI Goldie Oldie - The Bond girls collection - Liquid Sand in Honey Ryder  After my nails dried I put on a little bit of my Body Glitter Gel from Passion Parties. I'm pretty certain it is as of now a discontinued product. However if you do manage to find some (Check the passion Party Site here ) I have a little hads up to give you. This is a product where LESS IS MORE, LESS IS SO MUCH MORE... It is very very very SPARKLY and NOTICEABLE (Especially the first few hours) also it gets EVERYWHERE. So honestly if you are planning to wear this with clothes you are probably better off putting it on an hour or so before your clothing, lest your clothes be covered in glitter!!! But hey if you are a pageant girl  SAY HELLO to the BEST GLITTER GEL ever ;)

Cover up
To help combat some unwanted dark circles under my eye I went to my go-to Cover up that came with my Jane Iredale Starter Kit in Porcelain which was obviously my Circle Delete Concealer #2 in Peach

I also used my Dream Tint Moisture Tint in light with SPF 15

Next I moved onto pore control where I used my go to Product The Benefit Pore Professional

Face

For my Face I actually ended up going for a more natural Skin tone foundation and choose the Pure Pressed base Foundation in Bisque that has SPF 20 by Jane Iredale (the bottom foundation found in my starter kit.)

Next I added on a Light glittery layer/minor contouring using Passion Party Gold Dust Body Powder (#3020)

For my Blush I choose my ULTIMATE favorite Maybelline New York Dream Mousse Blush in Peach Satin (Find it here) It could be comparable to Maybelline New York Dream Bouncy Blush in Peach Satin (See it here) or possible similar to Maybelline New York Face Master Glaze in Coral Sheen. (Find it here)

Eyes

For my eyes I choose to do them a little differently but only a little bit.
I reached out and used my current Go To Mascara which is the High Intensity Mascara by Clinique.

Next I used my Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick in Whiteness White by Rimmel London. Which I used to outline the corners of my eyes.

Next I continued to do something different by using only the White Side of my Revlon photo ready Kajal Intense Eyeliner and Brightener in Nile 002 and drew THICK white LINES on my LOWER lids.

After that I used my ABSOLUTE Favorite EYE SHADOW which is Pure Pressed Eyeshadow triple Brown Sugar by Jane Iredale.

Lips

For my lips I started off by practicing my Cupids Bow using my Mysterious brand unknown Lip Liner.

Next I used my combination of Lip Plumpers including my Mini Just Kissed Lip Plumper in L.A. which came in my Jane Iredale starter kit followed by a coat of Lip Venom by DuWop

I really like to put these two lip Plumpers on at least 30 minutes before I do lipstick. That way  I can actually double up on Lip Venom by slicking on a secondary coat on top of my "base coat"

For lipstick I actually tried practicing a bit of an Ombre Red Lip combination by layering my two favorite lipsticks together which made a sort of unique shade of red hues. So I used my go to Colour Riche Lip Colour in Classic Wine by L'Oreal Paris combined with my other favourite lip product which is my                                                 Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing

For a final sleek touch  I used my Rimmel London Stay Glossy 3D  Lip Gloss in Popcorn for 2. (Similar Colours seen here

Vagina Monologues Final Performance Makeup

Vagina Monologues Final Performance Makeup

On April 11th we held our second and final performance for the Vagina Monologues which was put on by the group V Day Oliver-Osoyoos of which I am a member. It was a fairly busy day for me as a British Columbia Ambassador Candidate  as I had attended two events in the afternoon and spent nearly 2 hours taking photos around town. So I have included the eye liner I used that afternoon because it was kind of noticeable still when I was doing my performance makeup.

 Makeup Up Guide

Facial Prep

For my prep I started out by using my beloved Clinique Moisture Surge extended relief Moisturizer. Which I use as both a Moisturizer and a Primer. Simply due to the fact that I can't afford a Primer at the current moment.

Face

For my Face I used my Benefit Pore Professional Pro Balm on my Pores.

I then used my absolutely favorite Jane Iredale starter kit in Porecelain. I used my Circle Delete Concealer #2 and I also used my Dream Tint moisture tint in Light with SPF 15 before using my Jane Iredale  So Bronze 1

For a touch of a Glittery Shimmer effect I used my Passion Party Gold Dust Party Body Powder (#3020C)

For Blush I used my Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Blush in Sheer Honey as seen in my Starter Kit.
Followed by my Maybelline Dream Mousse Blush in Satin Pink as seen here on Amazon with a comparable product being Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Satin Peach   or Maybelline Face Studio Master Glaze in Just-Pinched pink.

Eyes

For my eyes earlier in the day I had used my Revlon Photo Ready Kajal Intense Eyeliner and Brightener in Blue Nile 002  and it was slightly left over when I did my Performance makeup.

I lined my lower lid waterlines with nude to help brighten my Lower lids. I typically do not line my water line and usually only do it if I absolutely need to do it.
I used my Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Eye liner by Rimmel London in Nude 005

Whenever I use mascara I actually apply it during my Facial Prep stage. So that I can easily correct little mistakes before all the foundation steps. For this look I used my go to Clinique High Impact Mascara.

Now this time around I used my Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick by Rimmel London in Witness White to use as a pre-shadow over my eye lids and added it to the corner of my eyes.

I followed up by putting on my all time favorite eye shadow which is the
Jane Iredale

Next I lined my Upper lids using my Super Liner Mat-Matic Intense Matte Automatic Eyeliner by L'oreal in Taupe Grey
and lined my lower lids using my Essence Eye Liner Pen

Lips

For my lips I firstly used my mysterious Lip Liner to highlight my Cupids Bow. I actually did this during my facial prep.

Next I used my lip Venom by DuWop
during my Facial Prep to plumpen up my lips

After some time I used my Mini Jane
Iredale Just Kissed Lip Plumper in L.A.
from my Starter kit.

I used both my Heftiest Hibiscus Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Moisturizing Lip Color Balm and my L'oreal Paris Colour Riche Lip Colour in Classic Wine to create an intensified Ombre Lip colour.

To finish my look I used my
in Sexy to finish up my look!
