Welcome to Chelsea's BCAP Journey

My Story
My name is Chelsea Elizabeth Cameron-Horner and I am delighted to announce that I am running as a candidate in the 2015 British Columbia Ambassador Program.

Way back in 2008 I was crowned as Osoyoos Princess and had the unique opportunity of having 2 year reign where I gave up my crown in June of 2010. In 2013 I had the pleasure of donning my tiara once more as part of the 65th Annual Cherry Fiesta celebrations (Where my profile picture is from.)

My participation with the Osoyoos Royalty Programme had such a profound impact on life and gave me so many treasured skills that have taken me pretty far. In the fall I participated in my first principal role with my local acting group - Nunset Boulevard & It re-sparked my old dream of running in the British Columbia Ambassador Program.
So alas here I am writing this & creating my social Media Platform.

About the British Columbia Ambassador Program

Education, Motivation and Self-Esteem
The British Columbia Ambassador Program is a scholarship based Pageant that is open to any young Man or Woman who have previously held a Royalty or Ambassador Title within their respective communities. The British Columbia Ambassador Pageant has been an annual event since the year 2000 when it crowned its first three Youth ambassadors. Since then it is held in City of Merritt during the month of August.

The mandate of the program The mandate of the program The mandate of the British Columbia Ambassador Program is to:
■Nurture provincial leaders of the future.
■Promote and assist with the expenses of post-secondary education.
■Forge links of friendship and understanding throughout BC communities.
Candidates who partake in the program are judged on General Knowledge of British Columbia & current events, their public speaking abilities, personal interviews and how they represented their community throughout their candidacy as well as their community presentations during the pageant.

The British Columbia Ambassador Program offers bursaries & Scholarships to assist the Young People of our Province to achieve ambitions of post-secondary education. These are available to all candidates regardless of whether they get a title or not.

Monetary awards are given out during the pageant in varying amounts to award winners throughout the evening such as the Top Public Speaker, the top knowledge exam mark, top community presentation etc.

Each year 3 people are selected to represent the Province as the British Columbia Ambassador team for that respective year. During their reign the British Columbia Ambassadors act as Role models for their communities as well as the youth throughout British Columbia and they are expected to uphold the expectations of the program such as pursue post-secondary education and travel around the Province promoting the mandate of the program.
