V Day ~ Vagina Monologues Makeup Guide

V Day 2015 ~ Vagina Monologues Makeup

So as I have mentioned I am a part of the V Day Oliver-Osoyoos Group and further more a cast member in their 2015 production of the Vagina Monologues. So this will be my Make-Up product guide. Heads up stage makeup is quite different to day to day makeup. I am fully aware that my face is a few times darker than it normally is. I am also now aware that my foundation is quite blotchy and that the over all look was not so great for the first evening performance (which are the pictures you see here.) Thank goodness that stage lighting fixes all the little imperfections ;)

Makeup Guide

Pre-Makeup

I started with my beloved Clinique Moisture Surge At the moment I am fairly broke so I don't actually use a Makeup Primer. So I use my Moisture Surge as a combination of my Moisturizer and my primer. So far it works okay for me. However I don't really expect my makeup to last me for hours on end. So in the mean time skipping a primer and using this instead works well enough for me.

Next & Not pictured I spray on a home made Makeup Setting spray.
Next I put on my Body Glitter which I used what I think is now a discontinued product
from Passion Parties Canada
as  I can't seem to find it in
their current store
but feel free to look here

For my nails I used OPI Bond Girls Liquid Sand
in Honey Rider (Seen here on EBAY)

Makeup used

Face

As a part of a corrector I used my handy dandy Jane Iredale Circle Delete Concealer #2 in peach to camouflage my imperfections. Which came with my Jane Iredale Starter kit in Porcelain
Not shown but  I used my  Dream Tint in Light that has SPF 15 to further correct my little imperfections.
Also from this set I used the Blush which is called PurePressed Blush in Sheer Honey
I used my  Benefit The Porefessional Pore Balm to help hide any pore related imperfections.

For my foundation I used my Jane Iredale Bronzer in So-Bronze 1
Typically if I'm going to do the bronzer I would normally cover it in a light layer of one of my Jane Iredale foundations to lighten the color a bit but since I was on stage I basically used just that.

For this paticular look I added a layer of Body Shimmer using another Passion Party Product called Gold Dust Body Powder (#3020C)  which gave me a nice shimmery layer.

Eyes

For my Eyes I used my all time favorite Eye Shadow trio set which
Jane Iredale is actually such a well made product that when you layer it up enough it is a rich enough color to withstand the harsh stage lights! Which I love because proper stage makeup is quite Harsh so when I found an alternative that I could use daily yet also use on stage when needed I instantly fell in Love!

For Mascara I used my current go to which is Clinique High Impact Mascara in Black. As a hint I actually apply my Mascara during my Prep steps. That way I can erase any little blots before Foundation layer!

For Eyeliner I used L'oreal Super Liner Mat-Matic in Taupe Gray on my top lids and lined my lower lids using my Essence Eyeliner Pen. I really like the Eyeliner pen because it give's a really nice POP and adds lots of nice drama to my eyes without too much smudging.

LIPS

To start I lined my lips using my Mysterious yet effective Lip Liner pen!
Followed by my Sample sized Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip Plumper in LA

I then used my DuWop Lip Venom
Lip Plumper

Followed by my trusted lipstick which is L'oreal Paris Colour Riche LipColour in Classic Wine

Back stage I applied my LipFusion
Lip Plump Color Shine in Sexy

However I feel like that during tonight's
Performance I will add my favorite
Clinique Chubby stick intense
moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in
Heftiest Hibiscus to my backstage go-to products for quick pop's of color.

V Day Oliver-Osoyoos & the 2015 Play

In the Winter with encouragement from a Co-Star from Nunset Boulevard I ended up auditioning for and becoming a part of the 2015 Cast of the Vagina Monologues. It was also my initial introduction to the group V Day Oliver-Osoyoos . I was very much warmly welcomed to both the Monologues and the group and would find a great source of Support, encouragement, inspiration, and empowerment from these two combined forces as well. I soon became an active member within the group including my time helped out the annual 1 billion rising Art Show.

I truly believe in the group and that which in stands for and believes in. "V Day dreams of a world where women and girls will be free to thrive rather than just survive." V Day is a global movement to Raise awareness about issues women and young girls face in society today, in particular the violence still happens daily against Women and girls. V Day encourages events that use Art and the power of women in a community to rise together and work towards a common goal ENDING ALL VIOLENCE against Women.

The reason why I originally choose to audition for the Vagina Monologues was initially to continue to challenge myself and grow as an Actress. It would be my first play since 2010 where it more centralized around Drama more than comedy. I wanted to push myself outside of my acting comfort zone. Soon after I learned more about V Day and it's prinicpals I couldn't have been more happy to have chosen to become a part of this group and represent all that it stands for. I found such an accepting, encouraging, empathetic, and inspiring group of women to surround myself with as part of the cast and just a great group of people in general when it comes to the dedicated group of people that make up the V Day Oliver-Osoyoos Group (Facebook page) . We as a cast have been working so very hard in our efforts towards the production this year. Our cast features over 15 different women from around the South Okanagan.

Now this group is highly supportive of both the Osoyoos Royalty Program , The Oliver Ambassador Program  and the British Columbia Ambassador Program  and have extended an invitation to myself - Chelsea Cameron-Horner: British Columbia Ambassador Candidate 2015 and Viveka Jensen-BC Ambassador Candidate 2015 to attend the Vagina Monologues and set up a table in the foyer of the Mini Theatre where we can welcome people as well as introduce ourselves and promote the British Columbia Ambassador Program.  Also since giving back to our community is so important to both viveka and myself, we have decided to make a donation to V Day Oliver - Osoyoos using some of the money we raised during our Osoyoos Easter Extravaganza Fundraiser.

I would truly encourage everyone who is able to come out and see one of our Performances of the Vagina Monologues. We will be performing both today, Friday April 10th, and tomorrow, Saturday April 11th at 7 p.m at the Osoyoos Secondary School Mini Theatre. Tickets will be available for $20.00 at the door. Money raised during our performances this evening and tomorrow evening will benefit local charities that serve women in the Southern Okanagan, so money raised will truly be going to great causes! Thank you to everyone for your support and I hope to see you at tonight or tomorrow night's show!

Easter Fundraising Make up Guide

Easter 2015 Makeup Product Guide

As a fundraiser for the British Columbia Ambassador Program I spent all morning and most of Saturday Afternoon outside selling Cotton Candy on April 4th. So I kept my makeup relatively simple since I knew it I could be facing a different number of weather from Sunny to windy and cold or even rainy.

For my pre makeup prep I used my go to Clinique Products Even Better Skin Tone Correcting Moisturizer with SPF 20 and my beloved Moisture Surge

I choose to skip several different products instead keeping my look simplistic.

Lastly I choose my favorite Clinique product the

Chubby Stick Baby Tint Lip Colour Balm in Flowering Freesia 04 and used Bonne Bell Lipglam a Shimmery clear lipgloss but would be similar to their Lip LITES Vanilla Swirl

For my eyes I went to my go to Jane Iredale PurePressed® Eye Shadow Triple Brown Sugar

Easter extravaganza BC Ambassador Fundraiser

Fundraising at the Osoyoos Easter Extravaganza

On April 4th I was able to attend the Osoyoos Easter Extravaganza as a British Columbia Candidate & host a fundraiser where I sold Cotton candy.
My friend who owns Crave Ice graciously allowed us to use his Cotton Candy Maker to make 75 bags of Cotton Candy!
The Osoyoos Festival society graciously allowed me to sell Cotton Candy at the Osoyoos Easter Extravaganza even though they orignially weren't going to let anyone sell any food at the event. Osoyoos Royalty Program Graciously allowed me to use part of their designated Spot at the Osoyoos Easter Extravaganza where I set up my table which was lent to me by the Osoyoos Duty Free Shop. I spent the entire morning selling my cotton candy and was able to sell roughly 50 bags of Cotton candy between 9 a.m and 1 p.m. During my time at the Easter Extravaganza one volunteer had made these scrumptious scones for everyone who came out to Volunteer this morning!

Eventually the Osoyoos Grad Class came and set up a really unique fundraiser beside mine. It was called Pie a Grad and they were selling people pies for either 1 for $2 or 3 for $5 which you could throw into the face of a Grad. The two young men who were the brave volunteers were extremely good sports an allowed people to throw pies at them for a few hours - without complaint. It was really adorable as there were a few little ones who were a bit hesitant to throw the pies, one little boy wouldn't even do it, instead he ran up to the boy and handed him the plate and the Grad humored the little guy by smashing his own face with the plate.

The 2014 Osoyoos Royalty Team and the 2015 Miss Osoyoos Candidates were kept extremely busy as they hosted a Fish Pond, a throwing game as well as offered face painting, however We managed to take a few moments to take a few photos. Also offered at the Easter Extravaganza was the traditional Pancake breakfast and the offered a Bouncy Castle and petting zoo for the kids! Across the square at the Fire Hall the Osoyoos Fire fighters did their annual fundraiser for the Canadian Cancer Society where they were selling hotdogs and shaving their heads.

Through out the morning there were several other Easter events going on such as the Kid's large Easter Egg hunt at the local elementary school, a smaller Easter Egg Hunt at the Osoyoos Home Hardware, pictures with the Easter Bunny and the official Opening of this month's Art Exhibit which is called Young Osoyoos Artists and features artwork from local Youth.

The Festival Society booth.

At around 1 p.m the Easter Extravaganza came to a close, I however continued selling my Cotton Candy outside of  A New Leaf Tea & Gifts where I continued to sell my cotton candy until 5 p.m. At that point I had been selling Cotton Candy for 8 hours and had sold 65 bags of Cotton Candy. So I decided to call it a day.

I had an extremely successful as well as enjoyable morning and afternoon fundraising. I will be making a donation to V Day Oliver-Osoyoos since I have decided to give back to Local groups and charities whenever I do a fundraiser whether it is through a monetary donation or something else. Giving back to my community as much as possible is extremely important to me and I am eager to use my fundraisers as a chance to give back to those who work endless to better  the lives of people within my community. I have chosen V Day Oliver-Osoyoos (FB) as the recipient of my First donation because it is a truly marvelous group of dedicated volunteers. I became a Member of the V-Day Oliver-Osoyoos group in the winter and have since been so very warmly welcomed, supported and just awe struck by this fantastic group of people with such very big hearts!

Thanks for reading my blog & supporting me as a British Columbia Ambassador Candidate. I hope you all have a wonderful Easter. Lastly here is a video of me throwing a pie at someone's face (on purpose) Throwing pie at someone (on purpose) - Bellz9113
